ITIL® Training
ITIL® Certification is a world recognised qualification in the IT service management industry. In line with the ITIL® V3 programs, a certification pathway has been developed (below). This pathway model shows all the ITIL v3 programs, as well as the v2 programs. The arrows highlight the possible options to achieve the “expert” level certification.
The ITIL® certification scheme works on a points system. In order to qualify for the ITIL® v3 “expert” certification, you need to obtain a minimum of twenty two (22) points: two of which must be from the foundation program, which is a mandatory first step; and five of which must be from the ‘managing across the lifecycle’ program, which is also a mandatory final step.
You can choose modules from the capability stream (4 credits per module) or lifecycle stream (3 credits per module) to gain the other 15 credits, and you are expected to choose a balanced program overall. Those who hold a V1 or V2 managers certificate (17 credits) and complete the mandatory V3 managers bridge program and pass the examination (5 credits) will also obtain the ITIL expert certification.
